Fringe Length and Safety

Warning Read The Following to Prevent A Serious Accident Braided levers with fringe of 12" or longer, are NOT intended for use on a motorcycle with a Fairing/Windshield and/or other types of Air Deflectors which may cause air turbulence.

If you have a Fairing/Windshield or Air Deflectors you may need to shorten the fringe to avoid a potentially hazardous condition caused by the air backwash entangling your hands and controls. To test this, we suggest taking your motorcycle out for a ride at various speeds (using caution) to see if this condition develops. Should you encounter this problem, pull over to a safe area and cut the fringe a few inches at a time until this condition no longer occurs. To Shorten Fringe: turn the handlebars fully from side to side and trim the fringe I to 2 inches above any object the fringe could entangle and inhibit the proper handling of your motorcycle.

Also, please note that due to damage from the buffeting action of the wind, fringe longer than 12" used with a Fairing/Windshield or other type of Air Deflector, may become frayed and the finish may deteriorate at the ends of the fringe.
